Minhaj-ul-Quran is an international organization founded by Shaykh ul Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri 1980. Since then, Minhaj ul Quran has been a part of spreading the true message of Islam. Minhaj ul Quran works to promote peace, tolerance and interfaith harmony. We have branches that work with education in the cultural as well as religious and spiritual aspects to build up, in this we also work to counter extremism and try to engage young Muslims for religious guidance. Minhaj ul Quran has a great focus on women and promoting women’s rights and development. Minhaj Welfare Foundation which is a branch within Minhaj works actively to provide social welfare and promote human rights around the world.
In other words, Minhaj ul Quran wants to bring about a comprehensive change on several levels of the society and once again revive the moral and spiritual values which have been weakened many times in this time.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is a distinguished Islamic scholar and a key figure in Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International (MQI), a global organization working for peace and harmony and revival of the spiritual teachings of Islam. Extensively educated in both Islamic and secular sciences, he has become an authority on Islamic law and ideology, as evidenced by his significant contributions to Pakistan’s legal and constitutional development. Through his lectures, books and establishment of educational and welfare institutions throughout the world, he strives to promote knowledge, tolerance and unity among different societies.
Born in 1951 in Jhang, Pakistan, and brought up in a spiritual environment, Shaykh-ul-Islam began his formal education in Madina, where he acquired a deep understanding of classical Islamic sciences. With an impressive academic record including degrees in Islamic studies and law, he has held senior positions at the University of the Punjab and advisory roles to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Ministry of Education. His exceptional work as a teacher, writer and community activist has made him a central figure in both academic and religious circles.
Through the Minhaj-ul-Qur’an and its extensive network of educational and welfare institutions, Shaykh-ul-Islam has brought people together across cultural and geographical boundaries. With a library of over 640 published books and thousands of lectures in multiple languages, his influence extends far beyond Pakistan. Through his work for interfaith dialogue and humanitarian aid, he has become a global voice for peace and understanding, and his contributions continue to shape both Islamic thought and societal development.
